What Are the Inner Development Goals (IDGs)?

The Inner Development Goals (IDGs) provide a framework that focuses on personal growth and human qualities essential for sustainable development. What sets the IDGs apart from other competency frameworks is their strong emphasis on core values, community, and positive action. Empathy, humility, optimism and perseverance are fundamental to creating a society that cares for our beautiful world.

Are the IDGs for you?

Yes—whether you're in education, business, or any other sector, the IDGs are for anyone committed to personal growth and societal impact. The Inner Development Goals are gaining significant traction. For instance, the Transition Makers Toolbox—a collaboration between five leading Dutch universities—uses the IDGs framework to provide educators with innovative tools to teach essential skills for societal change. More than 50 major business and corporate partners (e.g Ikea, Amazon or Ericsson) are also adopting the IDGs for their leadership and organisational development. Why I Advocate for the IDGs

I strongly believe in the power of deep inner values and community to create lasting change. My scholarly work explores how language shapes reality—how we use it to inspire positive action and build a better future. My commitment to this work is deeply personal, as I strive to create a sustainable world for my three children (and their children, and their children...).
